About Chromatic Text Reveal
Chromatic Text Reveal brings words in through a lens: each one fades up with its red and blue channels split apart, then pulls into focus as the fringes close. It feels cinematic without being loud.
Chromatic Text Reveal is a text animation for React 19, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 and animated with Motion. It drops into Next.js, Vite, Remix or Astro through the shadcn CLI as a single file you own.
When to use Chromatic Text Reveal
- Hero headlines.
- Section titles on scroll.
- Product launch pages.
- Film, music and media sites.
How it works
The split is a pair of coloured text shadows animated back to zero alongside a blur. The full sentence is the element's accessible name, and it can replay each time it enters the view.
The real text stays in the page for screen readers and search engines; the animated letters are decorative copies marked aria-hidden. With prefers-reduced-motion on, it holds still or settles instantly instead of animating.
Customizing Chromatic Text Reveal
Every prop is documented in the API reference above with its type and default. The ones you will reach for first are listed here.
The Customize panel next to the preview lets you change stagger, split live, and the Code tab updates to match, so the snippet you copy already carries your values.
- text (string).
- stagger (number, default 0.08).
- split (number, default 6): Channel split in px.
- repeat (boolean, default false).
- as ("h1" | "h2" | "h3" | "p", default "h2").
