About Time Picker
Time Picker is three scrolling columns, hours, minutes and period, that snap to the nearest value with native momentum. Each column is keyboard accessible, so picking a time is fast on any device.
Time Picker is an input component for React 19, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 and animated with Motion. It drops into Next.js, Vite, Remix or Astro through the shadcn CLI as a single file you own.
When to use Time Picker
- Booking and appointment forms.
- Alarm and reminder settings.
- Scheduling tools.
- Delivery time slots.
How it works
Columns use CSS scroll-snap, so touch, wheel and trackpad feel native. Each is a listbox with arrow keys and type-to-jump, and the value is always 24-hour HH:MM whatever format you display.
It is a real form control: it has an accessible name, works with the keyboard alone, shows a visible focus ring and announces its state to screen readers. With prefers-reduced-motion on, it holds still or settles instantly instead of animating.
Customizing Time Picker
Every prop is documented in the API reference above with its type and default. The ones you will reach for first are listed here.
The Customize panel next to the preview lets you change format, minuteStep live, and the Code tab updates to match, so the snippet you copy already carries your values.
- value (string): HH:MM in 24-hour time.
- defaultValue (string, default "09:30").
- format ("12" | "24", default "12").
- minuteStep (number, default 5).
- label (string, default "Time").
