About Swipe Cards
Swipe Cards is a stack you swipe left or right. The card rotates with the drag, a colour-coded stamp fades in past the threshold, and release either flings it away or springs it back. Buttons, arrow keys and Undo are included.
Swipe Cards is an input component for React 19, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 and animated with Motion. It drops into Next.js, Vite, Remix or Astro through the shadcn CLI as a single file you own.
When to use Swipe Cards
- Matching and discovery apps.
- Quick review queues for moderation or triage.
- Product and content recommendations.
- Onboarding preference picking.
How it works
The top card is a constrained drag whose rotation and stamp opacity are mapped from its offset. Velocity or distance past the threshold decides; the buttons and arrow keys call the same function, so every input path behaves the same.
It is a real form control: it has an accessible name, works with the keyboard alone, shows a visible focus ring and announces its state to screen readers. With prefers-reduced-motion on, it holds still or settles instantly instead of animating.
Customizing Swipe Cards
Every prop is documented in the API reference above with its type and default. The ones you will reach for first are listed here.
The Customize panel next to the preview lets you change threshold live, and the Code tab updates to match, so the snippet you copy already carries your values.
- items.
- threshold (number, default 120).
- stampLabels ([string, string], default ["NOPE", "LIKE"]).
