About Sparkline
Sparkline is an inline chart that draws itself in, with a soft fill, a pulsing end dot and optional trend colouring. It fits in a table cell or a stat card.
Sparkline is a display component for React 19, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 and animated with Motion. It drops into Next.js, Vite, Remix or Astro through the shadcn CLI as a single file you own.
When to use Sparkline
- KPI cards.
- Tables with trends.
- Stock and crypto tickers.
- Usage summaries.
How it works
It is a single SVG path with optional smoothing. The accessible label gives the first and last values so the trend is never only visual.
Interactive parts are buttons or links with accessible names, decorative layers are hidden from assistive tech, and everything is reachable by keyboard. With prefers-reduced-motion on, it holds still or settles instantly instead of animating.
Customizing Sparkline
Every prop is documented in the API reference above with its type and default. The ones you will reach for first are listed here.
The Customize panel next to the preview lets you change trend, fill, smooth, endDot live, and the Code tab updates to match, so the snippet you copy already carries your values.
- data (number[]).
- width (number, default 120).
- height (number, default 32).
- color (string).
- trend (boolean, default false): Colour by direction.
- fill (boolean, default true).
