About Slide to Confirm
Slide to Confirm asks for a deliberate swipe before an action goes through, like unlocking a phone. The label fades as the knob travels, and letting go early springs it home. Keyboard users confirm with Enter.
Slide to Confirm is an input component for React 19, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 and animated with Motion. It drops into Next.js, Vite, Remix or Astro through the shadcn CLI as a single file you own.
When to use Slide to Confirm
- Payments and transfers.
- Placing orders and bookings.
- Starting a deploy or a destructive job.
- Mobile flows where a tap is too easy.
How it works
The knob is a constrained drag with a threshold near the end; past it the action fires and the track fills, short of it the knob springs back. resetAfter returns it to the start after a delay for repeatable actions.
It is a real form control: it has an accessible name, works with the keyboard alone, shows a visible focus ring and announces its state to screen readers. With prefers-reduced-motion on, it holds still or settles instantly instead of animating.
Customizing Slide to Confirm
Every prop is documented in the API reference above with its type and default. The ones you will reach for first are listed here.
The Customize panel next to the preview lets you change label, confirmedLabel, resetAfter live, and the Code tab updates to match, so the snippet you copy already carries your values.
- label (string, default "Slide to confirm").
- confirmedLabel (string, default "Confirmed").
- resetAfter (number, default 2000): ms; 0 keeps it confirmed.
