About Code Window
Code Window shows code in window chrome with light syntax colouring in theme tokens, line numbers and highlighted lines, and can type its code in with a blinking caret.
Code Window is a display component for React 19, styled with Tailwind CSS 4 and animated with Motion. It drops into Next.js, Vite, Remix or Astro through the shadcn CLI as a single file you own.

How it works
A tiny tokenizer colours keywords, strings, numbers and comments with theme classes, so it needs no syntax library. typing reveals characters at a set speed.
Interactive parts are buttons or links with accessible names, decorative layers are hidden from assistive tech, and everything is reachable by keyboard. With prefers-reduced-motion on, it holds still or settles instantly instead of animating.
Customizing Code Window
Every prop is documented in the API reference above with its type and default. The ones you will reach for first are listed here.
The Customize panel next to the preview lets you change typing, speed, lineNumbers, title live, and the Code tab updates to match, so the snippet you copy already carries your values.
- code (string).
- title (string, default "index.tsx").
- language (string).
- typing (boolean, default false).
- speed (number, default 60): Characters per second.
- highlight (number[]): 1-based lines.
